I have used the more performance oriented cone style filters, as well as the full on/complete FIPK's on performance vehicles, but this purchase was just a stock panel replacement. Despite the car's age and mileage (154K), the engine runs glass smooth, quiet, and like brand new. Especially with a recent replacement of the spark plugs, wires, timing belt, and synthetic oil change. No possible way to run any better, right? WRONG! I had been considering aftermarket free-flow intakes, as K&N doesn't produce a FIPK for this model, but they were just cone filters installed at the throttle body and thereby sucking in hot engine bay air, as opposed to the factory box that does pull cooler air from inside the fender - SOOO a stock K&N filter was finally installed and I am AMAZED at the increased 'tip-in'/throttle response and ADDED smoothness It runs and feels like a V12. Doesn't matter WHAT you drive or HOW you drive. There IS a difference between stock paper replacements and the K&N filter on ANYTHING. And you don't necessarily have to get a FIPK...you WILL feel a difference with a 'simple' stock replacement

Got my KN Filter in April. I drive a 2005 Hyundia was getting 28 mpg. After the filter was installed, which was easy, I am now getting over 31 mpg
