Rhys Millen Racing Returns to Pikes Peak Hill Climb to Defend Hyundai Record

When asked why K&N Filters, Rhys replied, "All these disciplines require maximum air flow for performance while requiring maximum engine filtration protection. And none could be more important than at America's second-oldest motor sports race, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Rhys and his team returned to the mountain to defend its 2012 record in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) of 9:46.164.
"Being exposed to the performance advantages that were witnessed as we installed these products on a variety of cars," Rhys continued, "It was no question that K&N was the right choice for our race cars." This time around, six-time champion, and RMR team member, Paul Dallenbach will drive Millen's Hyundai Genesis Coupe that set the all-time record last year. Unlike all the previous years Hyundai has competed at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, the manufacturer will have two cars; the production-based Genesis Coupe that set last years' all-time record to the peak piloted by Pikes Peak veteran star Dallenbach from Basalt, Colorado, who has won six times previous in the Open Wheel division, as Millen will be piloting a new, purpose-built unlimited class rear-drive racecar in the Unlimited division, which now has 11 entries.
